Essence - High Spirits

High Spirits.. I like the name, but I don't really like the polish. I kind of bought it because I read a lot of positive reviews about it, but it's just not my colour. They only cost €1,29 so it's not a complete disaster if you decide you won't ever use a shade again. I applied two coats.

Essence - Make It Golden over China Glaze - Passion & Seether/3DD concert

This weekend I decided to finally use this Essence Colour & Go polish called 'Make It Golden'. It exists of small round glitter and larger hexagon glitter. Make It Golden definitely needs to be layered, I would probably need around fifteen coats for full opacity, lol. So anyway, I wanted something festive so I layered it over China Glaze - Passion. I basically bought Passion just for stamping, because all these Romantique polishes are very streaky. This is actually the only simple gold polish I have except for a holographic one, so I had to use this one. I applied two coats.

Here's a picture of China Glaze - Passion on its own:

It's already a week ago, but last saturday me and a friend went to see 3 Doors Down, yay! It was really awesome. We saw Seether, too! So here are some of the videos we made:

Essence - Trendsetter

My second polish called 'Trendsetter', yay! Unfortunately, Essence has discontinued this line.. (why Essence, WHY?!). They had some great colours, in my opinion. It's a mud green cream, very pretty. I applied two coats.

Just want to let you know that I'll announce the giveaway winner asap, things have been really hectic with school and stuff.

Essence - Blue Ray

Last year, Essence released the MeetMe@Holographics.com trend edition, which was said to contain five holographic polishes. As some of you may know, Essence doesn't know the definition of h o l o g r a p h i c. 'Where Is The Party?' and 'Out Of My Mind' from Essence's Colour & Go line where said to be holographic too, but they appeared to be duochrome. Just like this collection. At the time, I was already expecting it, so I was just looking out for five gorgeous duochrome shades. And they turned out to be pretty amazing!

Because I'm more leaning towards darker shades, this is one of my favourites. It's called 'Blue Ray' and is one of the two dark shades. Unfortunately, the duochrome effect is pretty invisible in my picture. To give you an idea, the base colour is blue and it has a purple duochrome effect. This is a two-coater.

Red and white love nail art

During my lazy saturday night, I decided to stamp some random love designs on my nails, after I'd polished them white and red. The polishes I used are Essence - Ahoy! and Essence - Back To The 50's, both from 50 Girl's Reloaded trend edition. For stamping I used several plates: BM02, BM09, BM-202 and SdP-A14. I also used Konad's special nail polish in white and red.

Essence Crazy Good Times trend edition

There's a new trend edition from Essence on its way! It will be available in February. It's called 'Crazy Good Times' and it includes six new nail polish shades! I'm pretty excited about them, to be honest.

''If not now, then when? Six nail polishes in exciting, intense colors are sure to attract lots of attention to your nails. You’re sure to be the center of attention with these crazy glitter effects to complete your gorgeous party look…''

I like their names too! They're available in 01 Paradelade, 02 Princessorize, 03 Colourbration, 04 Confetteria, 05 Candyction and 06 Glitterastic.

On to the pictures!

Don't they look amazing? I'm glad they release such a bright-coloured trend edition at this time of the year. I mean, I liked the Crystalliced trend edition, but i'm a sucker for bright colours with lots of different finishes!

Essence - Out Of My Mind

I just loooove Essence's Colour & Go line. There are some really pretty colours in this line and they're only €1,29 and they're 5 ml bottles. Unfortunately, this beautiful colour is discontinued, so I'm glad I got it!

It's an amazing turquoise colour with a duochrome finish. It's quite sheer.. I did two coats, but should've done three for full opacity.

Essence - Back To The 50's

Yesterday I went shopping with a friend. The day before, I saw this red shirt which I was planning to buy, so I decided to wear a red cream. Believe it or not, but this is my only red cream.. I'm just not into reds, although I have some glitter reds (who can resist Ruby Pumps, for example), but I really don't have any red creams, except for this one.

Back To The 50's was part of Essence's 50 Girls Reloaded trend edition, this was a trend edition that was released last summer, and it included all kind of marine-based colors. Back To The 50's is just your classic red cream, it's nothing special. I'm not really fond of the brush, I was having a difficult time with creating a neat line towards my cuticle. I applied two coats.

Essence Crystalliced Limited Edition: Swatches & Review

Last week, I went to Germany and I picked up Essence's newest trend edition called 'Crystalliced'. A perfect winter collection, if you ask me. So, this is what Essence says about this new trend edition:

''chilly cold weather, dancing snowflakes and ice crystals sparkling on your window… that’s why we love the winter! with the new trend edition "crystalliced"essencecaptures this breathtaking spectacle of nature in january and february 2012 to conjure-up frosty, cool styles sure to make the hearts of all ice princesses beat a little bit faster! delicate pastel shades, subtle shimmer effects and cool textures turn the winter into the most beautiful time of year – at least as far as your make-up is concerned!''

To be honest, I kind of forgot about this collection. Not because they didn't appeal to me at first sight, but because I was focused at their 'Circus Circus!' trend edition, which I can't seem to get my hands on. I was happily surprised when I saw this trend edition and bought them all.
So let's go on to the pictures:

01 It's A Snow-womans World
These kind of colors have never really been my taste.
It's a grey shade with a very subtle shimmer. This
shimmer is barely visible. I applied two coats.

02 Ice Crystals On My Window
This one was quite sheer, so I applied three coats.
I have to say I don't really care about the sheerness,
since it's really pretty. It has this coral shimmer in it.
I'm not even sure if this can be called shimmer..
It's like it has micro flakies in it, I love it.

03 Iced Age Reloaded
A taupe shade with lots of fine shimmer in it.
Nothing special, I think it looks very natural. This is
two coats.

04 Ice Eyes Baby
This is my favourite. The colour seems to shift between
grey and light blue and it has this pink shimmer in it,
it's really gorgeous. This also was two coats.

05 Frosted Champaign
I wore this at a new year's party. I wanted to wear
something more festive, but I decided to wear this one
anyway, because it matched my clothes and I wanted
to try it out! I think they picked the perfect name for
this, because of the gold shimmer it has.

I think this is perfect for winter, but I wouldn't wear this all year long. The formula was a bit too runny if you ask me, but it's not unmanageable. You get an 8 ml bottle for €1,79. Not too bad, is it?
