Essence - High Spirits

High Spirits.. I like the name, but I don't really like the polish. I kind of bought it because I read a lot of positive reviews about it, but it's just not my colour. They only cost €1,29 so it's not a complete disaster if you decide you won't ever use a shade again. I applied two coats.

P2 - Green Lagoon layered

Last weekend I wanted to do a sea nail art, so I decided to use a polish from P2 called 'Green Lagoon', this was in their Deep Water Love limited edition. Unfortunately, it's very sheer, so I decided to layer it over China Glaze - Re-fresh Mint. This is Re-fresh Mint by itself:

And this is P2 - Green Lagoon layered over China Glaze - Re-fresh Mint:

Just a small picture of the nail art, because I wasn't really satisfied. Could've looked better! I used SN Red, SN Blue, SN White, SN  Yellow and SN Green for stamping. The imageplates I used are m28, m36 and BM09. I also used two glitter polishes: China Glaze - Nova and Orly - Here Comes Trouble.

Catrice - King Of Greens

My favourite from Catrice's polishes since their assortment switch. This one is called 'King of Greens', I don't think I have something like this in my stash. It's a medium green with a light green shimmer, I like it a lot. Application was good, I applied two coats.

Catrice - Genius In The Bottle & Comparison

Catrice recently replaced some products out of their range for new ones, about 25 %. So tonight I went to several drugstores where they sell Catrice, and found out they were taking care of it at that moment. Since they weren't done yet, and I was cold and had to go back home to study, I just grabbed some of the polishes that were already there.

Catrice has also improved their brush, it became larger. I think I like it, but I have to get used to it first. You only need two streaks to cover a nail.

When I looked at Catrice's press release photo's, 'Genius In The Bottle' was my favourite, so I was glad I was able to find that one.

Here it is! Definitely a duochrome. I have this feeling it's some kind of replacement for the discontinued 'Iron Mermaiden', also a duochrome, but the colours are way different. It changes from copper to green to bronze... Very pretty. I keep staring at it and turning my nails into different angles, even when I was taking a shower, lol. Also, the name of this polishes reminds me of that song called 'Genie in a bottle' from Christina Aguilera. No idea if it has anything to do with it.

I thought Nubar's Wildlife might be similar to Genius In The Bottle, so I decided to do a comparison.

The formula turns out to be way different. Fortunately, neither of them are streaky, which I experience a lot when applying a duochrome. Genius In The Bottle contains more shimmer and less duochrome than Wildlife. I actually don't think I can choose between these two, because Wildlife has a stronger duochrome effect, but Genius In The Bottle turns out to look warmer.
If you want to see a swatch of Nubar Wildlife, click here

So, what do you think? Would you buy both of them or do you have one of them?

Essence - Trendsetter

My second polish called 'Trendsetter', yay! Unfortunately, Essence has discontinued this line.. (why Essence, WHY?!). They had some great colours, in my opinion. It's a mud green cream, very pretty. I applied two coats.

Just want to let you know that I'll announce the giveaway winner asap, things have been really hectic with school and stuff.

Some China Glaze Pretties

Just some random pretties I decided to swatch, because I didn't wear them yet or just because they deserve a better picture.

China Glaze - Bahamian Escape. The perfect sky blue cream.

China Glaze - He's Going In Circles. Unfortunately the only Kaleidoscope polish I have.

China Glaze - Pink Voltage Neon. The name says it all, it's a pink neon and it dries matte.

P2 - Artful with stamping nail art

P2 is a brand I usually buy in Germany, but I recently saw them at our local drug store too, yay! They were a bit more expensive, but not too much. Still around €2,25 for one bottle. And... I'm definitely gonna buy some more! To be honest, I haven't used a lot of the polishes I bought in Germany, but I should have. There's nothing to complain about. The application is flawless, it's perfectly smooth, two coats is enough and the colour is GREEN!

So tomorrow there is some kind of a sports day at our school. I'm not really a sports fan, so I enrolled myself for Wii games, lol.. And tonight I was looking for a new nail art design, so I decided to use this one. It looks like.. A game or something, right? Anyway, I stamped with SN Red, and the plate is BM-204.

Barry M - Cobalt Blue & Barry M - Spring Green

Cobalt Blue. This looks a bit less washed out in real life, but it's absolutely gorgeous. The name of this polish says it all. Two coats.

Spring Green. This deserves to have a better swatch and I should've applied three coats instead of two. Pardon my dry cuticles!

Australis - Limited Edition 2 & Australis - Emerald Star

Limited Edition 2. That's the real name, the bottle doesn't say anything but that. The colour reminds me of Shrek, it might be a dupe to OPI - Who The Shrek Are You? Except that this one has shimmer, and I believe WTSAY is a cream. These are two coats, but one coat could have been enough.

Emerald Star. I picked this up at Target, it was discounted to just $2 or $3. Probably because it's not in their range anymore, which I do not understand. I mean, look at it! The base is teal and then there is this gold shimmery duochrome effect, absolutely gorgeous if you ask me. Two coats.

I have to pick up some more of these, the formula is amazing and they dry really fast. I applied two coats just because I'm used to doing that, but one coat should be enough.

Ok, so this has nothing to do with these polishes, but it's one of my favourite scenes from Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows part II (except for the Severus & Lily part of course) and it makes me laugh every time I watch it!

Orly - Here Comes Trouble

I have been worshipping Orly Here Comes Trouble for a very long time, and I was so excited when I was finally able to get my hands on it. Here Comes Trouble is a saturated, grass green colour. The base is quite sheer, I applied three coats. There are plenty of round, green glitters in this, I love it. Here Comes Trouble is part of Orly's 'Pin Up' collection.

Reggae Zebra Nail Art

So.. This is the nail art I made with the 'Raspberry Fields Forever' base. I wanted it to look like some regular animal nail art design.. But because of the colour combination, it looks reggae. And I don't even like reggae! ^^ I do like the design though.
So first, I applied Catrice's Raspberry Fields Forever and then I sponged my nails with China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and Barry M Spring Green. The Zebra design is on plate BM-223. I used P2 - Eternal for stamping.

Nubar - Wildlife

Today I'm wearing a very strong duochrome called Wildlife. This was also part of Nubar's Going Green collection. The base colour seems to be a pink copper colour, but it's not very difficult to see that there's also a strong green duochrome effect in this. I'm not really a duochrome fan, but I would totally recommend this to those who love duochrome.

Nubar - Reclaim and my jewellery for prom

Today I'm showing you a gorgeous green prismatic polish called 'Reclaim'. It's from Nubar and it's part of their Going Green collection. What can I say? Green is my favourite color, and a whole collection full of green with lots of different finishes... Me likey. I want them ALL! It's the perfect collection for every green lover. Application is perfect, this is a two coater.

In about three or four weeks, there will be... Prom. Everybody around me is making a big deal out of it, and they're all buying insanely expensive dresses which cost hundreds of euro's. It may sound weird, but that's just not me. Why would I spend so much money on a dress I will be wearing just once, or maybe twice? Anyway, I bought a dress for less! I will save the pictures of the dress for later, but I do already have some pictures of the jewellery I will be wearing with it.

This is the necklace I will be wearing. I decided I wanted to have a short necklace (I'm used to long necklaces) and that it had to be black. You see, my dress is black with blue.. But I didn't want to wear any blue jewellery, because I want to keep it subtle.

And then this ring. I think it matches the necklace perfectly, I can't wait to wear them together. I'm also pretty sure about wearing black nail polish, but I'm still not sure about whether to combine this with a blue stamping design or a marble design, for example.

L.A. Girl - Urge

A few months ago, I came across this collection called 'Color Addict' from L.A. Girl. I believe there are eight shades in this collection, I picked up four of them. They're all beautiful bright colours with gold shimmer in it.

I tried the other ones I picked up before, and I remember they were less sheer than this one. I'm not sure, but I think I had to apply three coats for full opacity. Also, the drying time wasn't very fast, but a quick drying topcoat solved this problem!

It's a happy, bright colour. Perfect for summer if you ask me. Although I really love greens, this doesn't belong to one of my favourite shades of green.

China Glaze - Peace On Earth

Today I'm showing you 'Peace On Earth' from China Glaze. It was part of 2010's Holiday collection called 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice.

This color would've matched my latest water marble design, don't you think? I've been wanting this polish for a very long time, but now I actually have it, it kind of disappoints me.. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty colour, but I expected it to be a little more... Spectacular? I expected it to be more green and less gold. It's still green though, olive green.

Green Water Marble Design

I really should be studying for my next test right now, but I decided to water marble. It's been quite a while and I got some color inspiration, so I decided to do it anyway! I kind of used the same pattern on every nail, but they're not identical. I do like the way it turned out though.

The base for this water marble design is OPI - Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow. The rest of the polishes I used are Sally Hansen - Emerald City (Xtreme Wear) and China Glaze - Cha Cha Cha (Island Escape). At first, I also wanted to use a silver polish, but this didn't work out very well, so I decided to leave that out.

This is the base color, Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow. It's from OPI's Espana collection. It's a REALLY dark green, it's almost black. There's also a little bit of shimmer in this, but that isn't really visible. It's nothing special. I wouldn't wear this on its own, but it's perfect for these kind of water marbles. I applied two coats.

Color Club - Holiday Splendor

I received this beauty when it was still twenty degrees outside, and by then I already decided I would wear this during Christmas. Well.. It didn't happen. Don't ask me why, I can't even remember what polish I was wearing this Christmas, but it wasn't this one. I'm still trying to live with that fact, lol. Holiday Splendor is by no doubt one of the prettiest polishes I bought this year.

This is Color Club's Holiday Splendor, a vibrant green prismatic glitter. Holiday Splendor is part of the Beyond The Mistletoe collection (Holiday 2011). Unfortunately, the application wasn't really smooth, but quite thick. I don't care, I mean... The color, the finish, it's awesome!
